Our news:

Building on our solid reputation and taking The Cambridge Fruit Company brand further

The Cambridge Fruit Company are pleased to announce the launch of their re-brand in preparation for 2013. They’ve been working in association with Lisa Garwood of nativeBrand.

“The original concept seven years ago was fantastic and we are easily identifiable in Cambridge. We’ve worked with nativeBrand to help build on our solid reputation and take our brand further. Our image is now more descriptive and the new logo really enhances the fruit delivery focus whilst keeping a friendly, warm touch”

“We’re a growing company. We’ve added a new van to our fleet, employed an additional driver and our aim is to become the number one provider of fresh fruit deliveries to workplaces and businesses in Cambridge”

See us at the 2012 Cambridge Fun Run

The Cambridge Fruit Company will be one of the main sponsors of the 2012 Cambridge Fun Run.

The 1.1 mile relay lap of the Cambridge Science Park will be held on Friday 16th November at 11.55am. Last year over 600 runners took part and raised over £27,000 for BBC Children in Need.

Neil Bharadwa, Managing Director of the Cambridge Fruit Company said: “We’re going to be on the finish line this year handing out our fresh bananas to the runners as they cross the line. There might even be a cheeky trick up our sleeve but the competitors will have to wait and see. We’ll also be running a competition to win a fruit box delivery to the winner’s workplace”

“We strongly believe in the ethos of a healthy workplace so sponsoring the Cambridge Fun Run seemed like the perfect synergy for us – we’ve been planning this for over three months and we’re really looking forward to supporting everyone on the day”

Supporting the local branch of a national food charity

The Cambridge Fruit Company are pleased to support national food charity FoodCycle.

The charity approached Managing Director Neil Bharadwa via twitter in early 2012. The Charity’s ethos is simple: “Food retailers throw out millions of tons of edible food every year due to supply overstock. The aim of FoodCycle is to redirect this food so it can be used to cook nutritious meals for people in the local community that do not have access to healthy foods for a variety of reasons, such as lack of income or knowledge of healthy nutrition.”

Neil Bharadwa said “This is a charity that’s very close to my heart, I hate to see food getting wasted and educating people on food nutrition ties in with our own story – I was inspired by Jamie Oliver’s healthy eating campaign around 2004, so I see this as an extension of that. We always donate our surplus fruit and vegetables to FoodCycle – very little actually gets thrown away”

Free lunches are provided for the community by volunteers from Monday to Saturday at St. Pauls Church, Hills Road. For more information please visit
